Nautilus crashes trying to render the thumbnail of an svg file

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus crashes when showing a folder with a certain svg file. This happens both in list and icons modes. I removed all the details from the file to the minimum that still crashes nautilus.

Confirmed.
Try it on Karmik and Jaunty both have the problem.
When try to display the icons of the SVG file : filters.svg
the Nautilus window crash and all the desktop icons are removed for this session.

It seems illogical in todays day and age that a thumbnailer crashes the entire desktop file browser system.

Confirming here. The thumbnailer crash bugs have been around for at least four or five releases. Is there anything we can do to alter the way that Nautilus thumbnails so that a thumbnail bug doesn't drag down the entire system?
