Bug Description

Hello,

Have a look with Nautilus to /usr/share/icons and search for .svgz files (in "scalable" directories).
You will see that there is a thumbnail for any .svg file but not for .svgz files.
The only way to get a thumbail is to double click on the .svgz file (it is opened with Eye Of GNOME)
Close EOG. You have now a thumbnail for this file. Refresh Nautilus (CTRL+R)
Should I open every file to get a thumbnail ? I don't think that it is a good idea. Today's computers are
able to unzip thousands of files in just few seconds.
This feature request also apply to Eye Of GNOME File/Open menu.

Best regards

So, is it really an upstream bug? I have still this bug on Ubuntu 8.10.

It needs to be compiled with that flag stated on the previous comment, marking this as confirmed since it seems to be an Ubuntu issue rather, thanks.

I can't see thumbnails for svgz files either. Not sure if this is a regression or a different problem, because opening in EoG no longer fixes the thumbs.

If I rename a svg file to svgz it does re-render the thumb, if I rename a svgz file to svg then it doesn't re-render it. librsvg appears to be built with --with-svgz, but I'm not sure.

I am using Ubuntu 9.10

This issue still occurs in Lucid Alpha 2, with all updates applied. As with the previous comment, opening it in EoG does not fix the thumbnail.
