I experience the exact same. I looked in the software centre and saw a package called simply 'LibreOffice' among all the 'LibreOffice *' packages. I installed that package and i can now open my files containing macros. I should expect though that having just the LibreOffice Calc package would be enough to open Calc files with macros so I suspect this still needs a fix.

I have the same problem. It occured when upgrading from Ubuntu 10.04 to 12.04.
After installing the Package "LibreOffice" the problem was solved.

Checking the document with Open Office on Ubuntu 11.04 - the document showed no problems.
Using software centre and installing LibreOffice Base cured the problem with LibreOffice Calc
