Also, Sensors reports a fan speed of 0. It was around 3000 before the upgrade

Fan restarted on reboot.

Björn,

Thank you for your attention to this. I removed and reinstalled Libre
Office from the Software center, and it is working fine now.

I am running an eeePC 1001PXD. It often overheated and shut down running
Natty.

Initial impression is that Oneiric is much better in this regard, but
Sensor reports that the fan does not come back on after suspend.
