This is with 12.04 i386 fully updated as of today.

None of the programs - Writer, Calc or Impress open. They all crash as soon as they try to open.

Ok, I figured out that this only happens on my laptop when it is connected to an external display. If I disconnect the external monitor, all of the office apps open up fine.
