record/track changes data not redable by Microsoft Word when document saved as a doc file

To reproduce this bug:

1. Obtain a doc file (Microsoft Word format)
2. Open the doc file in LibreOffice Writer
3. Click on Edit -> Changes -> Record
4. Make changes to the text
5. Save file as a doc file (I used Word XP file format)
6. Open file in Microsoft Word
7. Notice that changes to not appear when Word opens the file that was edited in LibreOffice

DrKay, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please attach the .doc file exported from Word and before being opened in LibreOffice, that when changes are recorded, saved and opened in Word, demonstrates this problem? Could you please provided specific, step-by-step changes that you recorded?

Well, my apologies. I created a file to demonstrate this problem, and I am unable to reproduce the bug myself. In retrospect, I believe the problem may have been created by saving the file as a .doc file in LibreOffice instead of the original .docx file, which may have caused problems with Word re-opening the file.

Not a bug! I'll mark it 'Invalid.'

This is not an invalid bug i guess, since i have the same problem.
i record my changes in a docx file, whilst working in Libre Office
then if i save it in docx version, it sometimes crashes.
thought i found the solution by saving in doc format (instead of docx), but not all changes are visible when opening in Microsoft Word.

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal (although i don't know whether this is relevant info)
