LO Base: What does "register the database in LibreOffice" mean?

When creating a new database connection in Base, the user is given the question of having the wizard "register the database in LibreOffice". Despite having worked with databases for more than 10 years, upon seing this question, I had absolutely no idea what it meant. This ought to be explained better.

I do not believe this is a support question. I am not asking what the registration means. I am reporting this as a bug and I still believe it is a bug. A usability bug, but nonetheless a bug. I also think that it should be fixed. We need a good office usable suite like LibreOffice if we want bug #1 to be closed (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1).
