Bug Description

Binary package hint: libreoffice

I'm testing libreoffice 1:3.3.0-1ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 11.04 alpha 2.

When I installed the Japanese language package (libreoffice-l10n-ja), almost all of UI were shown as square boxes so I cannot read them at all. To avoid that, I had to set the font replacement ("Ubuntu" -> "TakaoPGothic") by groping.

Fixed upstream.

I put this patch into debian/patches and built deb packages, and then confirmed the UI are correctly shown in Japanese by Takao font.

This bug was fixed at 3.3.1 in Upstream. Ubuntu already has higher version 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4. I will mark this as Fix Released.

nobuto, symptoms still/ again present in Ubuntu 12.04.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 in Dutch as primary language.
After adding both English and Japanese languages to this installation (and many Japanese-capable fonts, takao-fonts included), I still get the boxes instead of proper Japanese when starting LibreOffice 3.5.4.2
This might be a regression, but it does not work as expected.
The proper JP language packs for LibreOffice are installed, I even reinstalled them, just be sure.
Still those same boxes.
