3) What is expected to happen using LibreOffice Writer or AbiWord via the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https:/
cd ~/Desktop && wget https:/
is the numbers in the text box look the same as it does in Word or in attached Word exported PDF via Evince:
4)
LibreOffice:
What happens instead in LibreOffice Writer is the numbers in the text box next to the word Sample are replaced with a red triangle.
WORKAROUND: Expand the right side of the text box to reveal the numbers and the red triangle disappears.
WORKAROUND: Highlight the text box -> click Format -> Frame/Object... -> Borders tab -> under Spacing to contents uncheck Synchronize checkbox -> change the Left and Right combo boxes to 0.08" -> OK button
4)
AbiWord:
What happens instead in AbiWord is the majority of the words are gone with the shapes replaced with empty boxes.

I have seen this even in impress opening a .ppt file.That had tabs at wrong places making it look like a work of a child though it was a project presentation of a IT (MSc) student.I think these compatibility probs should be fixed as soon as possible if we really want to compete with MS office.
