This file shows how it looks (look around the @ character)

There are screw-ups like this on every page of the slideshow.

This happens on 2 installs of Ubuntu.

The font used in the document is 'vera' which isn't shipped with Ubuntu. However, it looks fine in the normal view, and only looks screwed up in the slideshow view.

If I change the font to Bitstream Vera Sans, then it works fine, but I shouldn't need to do that, can't always do that when colloborating with other people, and people who run into this bug won't know thats a workaround because it only showed up in slideshow view.

Looks fine here, no extra fonts installed.

To be perfectly clear, do you see the problems I see from the screenshot? They are a little bit subtle...

In the screenshot the text is misplaces around the '@', but that does
not happen on my machine.

Ugh. I disabled sub-pixel smoothing and deleted my printer but that doesn't make the problem go away.

One of my computers is was dist-upgraded from breezy, but the other is a fresh install. I tried running at 1028x768 and it still repros the problem there.

Also, the problem doesn't show up when I print, only when I do the slideshow.

Any thing for me to try, I will do. Maybe other people could jump in with their results.

Dennis, do you have Arial installed? I've put some comments in the upstream. The bug might occur if you don't have any of the replacement fonts...

There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
