Bug Description
This is a bug in libreoffice impress. Not in any other libreoffice I am aware of. Does not appear in libreoffice-writer.
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu

The text in bullet points bullet points using Font liberation Sans (or almost any other font) is highly compressed. Only happens with bullet points

I do not have a solution, but a complete purge uninstall of libreoffice* removal of $HOME/~ config/ libreoffice and a installation made it go away
