Bug Description
In LibreOffice Writer on GNOME/Wayland, if a copy is done in a particular Writer window, from then on, that window only accepts clipboard content from other Writer windows.
Before the first Writer copy is made, the clipboard works as expected
The problem is per Writer window
REPRODUCE
1. Open Writer and gedit
2. Type text into gedit, copy it and paste into Writer: ok
3. Type text into Writer and copy it
4. Copy text from gedit and paste into Writer
BUG
- the text pasted is from LibreOffice, not from gedit
The bug is supposed to be fixed several months ago, but some of it still remains in Ubuntu 16.10
https:/
- the patch mentioned has been verified to be present in gir1.2-gtk-3.0 Version 3.20.9-1ubuntu2
- LibreOffice version is 1:5.2.2-0ubuntu2
GETAROUND:
Open a new Writer window, paste and copy text there, then paste into the intended Writer window
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10
Package: libreoffice 1:5.2.2-0ubuntu2

Even better GETAROUND, in fatc the greatest GETAROUND ever:
The paste only fails if the current Writer window has a copy that is active on the clipboard
When a paste fails:
activate another Writer window, do a copy here
- the Writer window you are trying to paste into no longer controls the clipboard
Do the copy from your original source again, paste into Writer will now work
