Bug Description

Since a recent update, there is no longer a menu in the top panel. This means no access at all to several operations, for example, I can no longer perform tasks such as 'export to pdf'. This is an identical problem to the one that I reported as bug #1533826 in Audacity, so there is some underlying problem in the Unity system that may affect a number of applications. Please investigate further.

Yesterday, I decided to try re-installing. The problem is no longer there. I had carried out upgrades for several months, and problems like this sometimes happen. Sorry. Please close this bug report. Barry.

Hello, I would reconsider your d4ecision. It definitely IS a bug. Fresh & clean 16.04 LTS Beta 2 installation shows same behaviour. Please check attached screenshot. Thanks.

During the last couple of weeks, there have been enormous numbers of updates. The menus disappeared three or four times, but came back after one or two updates. If they don't come back for you, you may have to wait for the stable version.sc
