Bug Description

Opening an existing document (from a previous version of libreoffice, two years old), clicking on the text to edit, after a few milliseconds some of the letters disappear. The disappeared letters do not have any special formatting. In presentation mode (F5) the letters appear correctly.

See the attached documents (the slides and the snapshot).

alessandro pasotti, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

To help provide evidence of root cause, could you please advise if this is still an issue with one of the 5.x based PPAs via https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice ?

Same problem on ubuntu 15.04 64 bit up to date with libre office Version: 4.4.6.3, Build ID: 40m0 (Build:3), Locale : fr_FR.UTF-8.

My document is a fresh one and behavior is exactly the same (some char in title disappear).

Zooming in/ou/ editing the title make the missing characters back for a short period of time.

Update to LO 5.x is not possible for me (pro computer with limited update options).

I have the same problem on Linux Mint MATE 18.3 Sylvia (Ubuntu 16.04) with LibreOffice 1:6.1.3~rc2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 from PPA.

$ LC_ALL=C apt-cache policy libreoffice-impress

It happens also when I downgrade to 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial4 from xenial-upgrades.
