Alberto Salvia Novella, the issue of Writer not responding is reproducible in Trusty. However, after about a minute or two, the image did in fact paste into the document.

Hi, under Debian 6 and LibreOffice 4.1.5.3, it takes a long time (almost 5 mn) to display the photo and if during this time you try to do something else, Writer is unresponsive. Did you wait until the picture is displayed? Sophie

After 2 minutes the image is shown and LibreOffice Writer responds again.

I set status to NEW since issue has been confirmed in comment 2

however I do not reproduce bug under Win7x64 using LibO 4.2.3.3

I can open the website in IE 11 or Opera 12.16, then copy the image and immediately paste it into a Writer document with no freeze or hanging.

do you still see this issue with 4.2.x releases as well?

Alberto Salvia Novella, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Trusty Tahr.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as possible of the SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.
