3) What is expected to happen is when one clicks Tools -> Spelling... -> "More..." as per attached screenshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1086575/+attachment/3451778/+files/libreoffice_more.png it does something, which would be defined in built-in or online help.

4) What happens instead is that clicking "More..." doesn't do anything.

The purpose of "More..." is not defined in LO built-in help, or at online LibreOffice help:

Ubuntu 12.10 is no longer supported, and even better this bug appears to be fixed in Ubuntu 14.04's version of LibreOffice.
