highlight doesn't work

when trying to highlight text with the mouse, the cursor moves along the text, but there is no actual highlighting taking place. highlighting using shift + arrow keys still works, though.

@Roflplatypus, are you able to highlight text with the mouse at all? I am having a similar bug, but I am able to highlight a very small amount of text with the mouse before it stops highlighting. Highlighting with the keyboard still works, as you mentioned.

Just curious, because I don't want to file a separate bug report if it's not needed.

yes, i was to highlight some text, but then it stopped working. (note: i
no longer have the beta because i started having instability, so i
reinstalled 12.04).
