libreoffice does not install on ubuntu 10.04

after some recent updates libreoffice has disappeared from my Ubuntu 10.04 system, and cannot be reinstalled. this is from the terminal response, it says unmet dependencies and/or broken packages:

~$ sudo apt-get -f install libreoffice

Please use the stable ppa for the 3.5 series: ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-3-5

indeed I can install libreoffice once the ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-3-5 is added to my repositories. Thanks.

But shouldn't that kind of trickery be avoided for an LTS version? In particular for such an important package as xyz-office?

ullix, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, the LibreOffice PPA is not a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. Please report this bug to the provider of the software package. Thanks!

Looking at https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa?field.series_filter=lucid it seems 3.5.6 series are being uploaded by Rico. @Christopher, can you confirm that would be the person to ask?

I thought the LibreOffice PPA was maintained by Canonical, so who would then be responsible for it?
