Bug Description

1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu quantal (development branch)
Release: 12.10

2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer
libreoffice-writer:
  Installed: 1:3.6.1~rc2-1ubuntu5
  Candidate: 1:3.6.1~rc2-1ubuntu5
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.6.1~rc2-1ubuntu5 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What is expected to happen in Writer via a terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1029039/+attachment/3236278/+files/Compare_Test.odt && wget -c https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1029039/+attachment/3236283/+files/Compare_Test%232.odt -O compare-test.odt && lowriter --nologo compare-test.odt

click Edit -> Compare Document... -> Compare_Test.odt -> type in password:
Test

and the window Accept or Reject Changes appears.

4) What happens instead is after one inputs the password, the password window disappears, but the window Accept or Reject Changes does not appear.

WORKAROUND: Have both documents open simultaneously, then perform the Compare Document...

Merlinpilot, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1029039
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

As well, could you please attach the two files, with their passwords, that demonstrates the problem?

Thank you for your response. I have run apport-collect 1029039 as requested. I cannot send the files as they contain all my password information but I will create files to test and will let you know.

Have created a document Compare_Test and saved as Compare_Test#2, both protected with the password Test. I have reopened the newer file Compare_Test#2, made a change to it, and tried to compare with the original Compare_Test. Same thing as before happens - prompted for password for Compare_Test but after entering the password, nothing further happens. Documents attached.

I have tried doing compare documents using the same process but without password protection and everything works as it should.
