Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:
* In the KDE Network Settings, pick the 'Use proxy configuration URL:' option.
* There, set it to use the attached proxy.pac configuration file.
* Apply the settings and restart KDE as instructed.
* Then run the 'proxy' tool from the libproxy-tools package:

    $ proxy http://www.ubuntu.com
    Segmentation fault

I have uploaded an strace there:
http://fgouget.free.fr/tmp/libproxy.log

This is on the 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 and happens with both its standard 0.3.1-ubuntu1 libproxy packages and Natty's 0.3.1-2ubuntu5 packages with KDE 4:4.5.1.

The same test works fine in Gnome.

I can confirm this on a plain Natty. Though I didn't see this problem in 10.10.

@Francois, may I suggest you update the summary to be more general, e.g. "libproxy crashes with pac", since the problem is not related to KDE only, see bug #776618

summary: - libproxy crashes if KDE uses automatic proxy configuration
+ libproxy crashes with pac
Changed in libproxy (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I don't see this on raring. Is it still a problem, or has it been fixed?
