Bug Description
I upgraded from dapper to edgy and courier gave already some problems while upgrading (but I found out they where known within this bug system).
But now after the work around to get courier upgraded/installed I can't get courier to work (and so can't read my email on my server).
My Imap clients ask for username and password, but courier can't look them up in my database because of the following error related to PAM:
(restart courier-authdaemon)
Dec 11 01:06:54 fun4me authdaemond: stopping authdaemond children
Dec 11 01:06:54 fun4me authdaemond: modules="authpam", daemons=5
Dec 11 01:06:54 fun4me authdaemond: Installing libauthpam
Dec 11 01:06:54 fun4me authdaemond: Installation complete: authpam
(try to check email with client)
Dec 11 01:07:29 fun4me imapd: Connection, ip=[::1]
Dec 11 01:07:35 fun4me authdaemond: PAM unable to dlopen(
Dec 11 01:07:35 fun4me authdaemond: PAM [dlerror: /lib/security/
Dec 11 01:07:35 fun4me authdaemond: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/
Dec 11 01:07:37 fun4me imapd: LOGIN FAILED, user=leon, ip=[::1]
Dec 11 01:07:42 fun4me imapd: Disconnected, ip=[::1], time=13, starttls=1
I don't know why this is happening, I've already reinstalled both all packages from courier as well as reinstalled libpam-foreground (by downloading it from the repository and run dpkg -i )
I found out that I had to change the authmodulelist= "authpam" to "authmysql" in authdaemonrc.
I don't know why this was changed during the upgrade.
but I still think the above is an error which shouldn't occur.
