Bug Description
Installing Ubuntu from CD hangs when configuring libgstreamer
The following was produced by aptitude when trying to load the packages manually (I am a relative novice)
Setting up libstreamer0.8-0 (0.8.11-1ubuntu1) ...
OIL: ERROR liboiltest.c 247: (): illegal instruction in idct8x8_s16_mmx
OIL: ERROR liboiltest.c 247: (): illegal instruction in idct8x8_s16_mmx
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
Several other people appear to have the same problem.
The machine is an excellent venerable HP Vectra with a pentium II and a graphics card and not much else on board.

Thanks for your bug report. Were you trying to install Breezy or Dapper? This looks more like a Breezy installation to me, so it'd be nice if you could try the Dapper CD (maybe just the LiveCD) and report back, as their have been a bunch of improvements to liboil in the meantime.
