Bug Description

* Availability

The library was provided by network-manager-applet and split to be standalone upstream and in Debian, autosync failed since the new source takes over existing binaries so there is no build in Ubuntu yet

* Rationale

As described before, it's a split of an existing library to its own source. The applet is a legacy component while the library isn't.

* Security
No known security issues

https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/source-package/libnma
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libnma/+cve

* Quality assurance
- desktop-packages is subscribed to the package
- the library has a .symbols
- no downstream reports, only one minor upstream one

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libnma
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?src=libnma
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libnma/-/issues

There is one test which is part of the build and working, no autopkgtest. That's not ideal but also not different from the current situation in network-manager-applet which is already in main

* Dependencies
The dependencies for the library are in main.

* Standards compliance
4.5.0, using dh13, simple packaging

* Maintenance

it turns out that libnma0 is already in main, because it was previously.
We need to promote only src:libnma and libnma-common

"only" is relative.
libnma0 is from Source: network-manager-applet
But libnma-common is Source: libnma

So this would be a new source.

Is this a split package and all content was reviewed before?
The names sound similar but I'm not aware of the context here.

@Christian, as stated as the start of the description that's existing code which was in main in netwok-manager-applet and has been moved to a standalone component (since the applet is deprecated but the lib is not), so yes the code has been reviewed in some form at some point

Hello, yes, it is the same project, but libnma moved forward while the embedded code is some versions back.

The package looks sane and small. Copyright up to date, desktop-packages subscribed, no additional warnings or regression compared to current n-m-applet which is in main.

ACK from the MIR team.
