14.04 No Internet Connection after latest update

I did a routine update of the kernel like I always do when Update Manager says so. After rebooting, no Internet connection in Network Manager. No World Wide Web, no Apt-Get..., nothing.

After sleuthing around on the Internet on another computer I was able to figure out that I had to DOWNGRADE libnl in order to get a Internet connection. I think the latest libnl needs to be fixed.

I also have the same since since 2016-05-12. Is there any straightforward way to solve this. I have tried to downgrade libnl via Synaptic but it fails. I have no clue how to solve this. Any suggestions?

I 'solved' this by downgrading to an older version of libnl by downloading older versions with a different computer, this according to this post:

The post is from January, I don't understand why this problem pops up now (again?)...
