Bug Description

When transferring files from my Samsung Galaxy S3 to my computer, all files and folders were renamed to simple 3 digit numbers. The transfer should preserve names and relative path structure.

Running Raring Xubuntu, with mtpfs and mtp-tools.

Same symptoms on ubuntu (no x) raring under LXDE/openbox, also Galaxy S3. Same happened with stock ROM and with AOKP.

Also, PCManFM file manager shows the phone under "Places" using various names 9 times (none of those entries work), in addition to the "mtp" and "Android" entries that actually do work.

Screenshot shows original file (00001.vcf) and its copy on the local filesystem.

Seems to be fixed since at least libmtp 1.1.13 (already in Artful). See the Debian bug report.

status: Confirmed → Fix Released
