Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I noticed that the weather was the same for a long time for my selected location; it seemed like it was totally static (for more than 30 hours). I decided to remove the location and add it again. After this no weather came up at all. I also tried a totally different location, same result, nothing.

This could be a regression bug...

When I reboot, the weather applet displays the weather again, only it is way off, and it is static again...

Hhm, I'm starting to think this is not a bug in the applet at all. I have the same problem on other distro's. So my guess is it's a server problem... Anyway I can easily find out what server the weather (for my config) is grabbed from, so I can try to contact them?

Thanks for your bug report. The weather information comes from the automated METAR reports and is accessed from the US National Weather Service at NOAA [1]. If the weather is wrong, it's probably a problem with the weather station and it's not something we can fix.

However, if the weather station that is used by the weather applet is not going to be working correctly, it should be removed from the list and hopefully a different station can be used instead. What is the location name that is causing this problem?

It's been 5 degrees celsius for over a month now, rain or shine, night or day...
I agree it's not likely to be a problem with the applet itself
