Bug Description

The Weather Report panel application does update temperature but does not update the icon next to the temperature referring to either it's sunny, cloudy, stormy, etc, etc. It does update from the sun to the moon, judging by the time of the day (correctly).

Using Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 32-bit updated as of 18th of June 2009

Although it is important to be accurate this is not a paper cut, as it does not impact on the usability of a large population of users and their workflow. It's good details like this are being reported though, and we just need to make sure the bug is assigned to the correct project :-)

actually on karmic (gnome 2.28) I see that after boot the applet says "updating" until I manually make an update, after that it shows normally temperature and cloudly/sunny.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. Is it possible to know what location is set in the clock applet that causes this problem?

If you have been upgrading to Karmic, this bug has been fixed in libgweather 2.28.0-1ubuntu2, but you still need to set your location again. To do this, open the clock preferences, then remove the Montreal location. Click add, enter Montreal again, don't forget to select the Canada/Eastern time zone, then confirm. In the clock pop-up, re-associate the location. The weather should display properly now.

This bug is actually bug #404616. The fact that the time zone is not selected automatically is another bug in process of being fixed (#291853). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.
