Bug Description

Hi,

trying to use virt-v2v to import a vmware vmx file into libvirt and trying to use virt-v2v, but Can't find it.
Seems (no longer) packaged into libguestfs-tools, and can't find it elsewhere in the repository.
Checked with ubuntu 21.04 and 20.10 both amd64.

manpage exists until groovy (20.10) on: http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/groovy/en/man1/virt-v2v.1.html.

Seems virt-v2v is no longer packaged, which seems not correct to me, so reported it with this bugreport.

Regards,

Arjan

Upstream, virt-v2v (and guestfs-tools) have both been split out into separate projects, so they must both be packaged separately now. In Fedora we now have:

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/guestfs-tools
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/virt-v2v

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in libguestfs (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

Also missing (as well as virt-v2v) in Ubuntu 21.10 - meaning no easy way of converting vmware -> KVM ... Any solution ?

Hi, just checking old stuff posted once,
Today running ubuntu 23.04, the package virt-v2v is available, and solves reported topic for me.
Suggest to close issue as it is resolved in newer ubuntu release?
