Building with Perl 5.10 doesn't make a difference. I suspect the gstreamer version may be more relevant; the last successful build was with gstreamer0.10 0.10.25-2 (or 0.10.25-3 in Debian).

Debian version 0.15-3 fixed this, and builds everywhere.
