Cannot import photos from newer cameras with this old version

Bug Description
Since the 2.4.6 version shipped in Karmic, all these cameras are now supported (my Canon 7D is in this list...)

Because gphoto is in userspace and not in the kernel, I don't see what problems could cause such an update. In the same time, many owners of new cameras will be happy to use it... (sorry for my really poor english).
