hi
which version of ubuntu are you using?
have you tried file -> import photos in gThumb (applications -> graphics -> gthumb).
what do you see that shows the camera is detected?

the camera is listed as supported on http://gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php

What happens exactly when you plug in the camera?

Can you browse to camera:/ in konqueror and see it?

Can you see it in digikam or gthumb?

i have a similar problem with a Kodak DX 7590. Digikam can detect the camera successfully, but can not show previews of the images (exactly there are previews, but they are all broken) and cannot download any images.

It is impossible to access the images in konqueror too. So the only workaround for me is to use the command line interface:

gphoto2 --auto-detect -P

With this command i can download the images without any problems. But it will be nice if the GUI will work too.

I have mad some investigations with google and have found the following bug in kde bug tracking system. I think this is the same bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109277

Is there any change to incoporate this new version of libgphoto2 in ubuntu Dapper Drake?

I have tested my Kodak cam in edgy eft. Since in edgy there is a newer version of libgphoto2 everything works fine. If the original poster can verify this for his camera maybe someone can close this issue.

So either it works already in Edgy, or it will work with the fixed udev rules from bug 67532. Thus I just make this a duplicate of that bug.
