* If you are launching apps from a regular spinning harddisk then it might be spinning down to save power. And they take about 10 seconds to spin up again. To check that please look at the drive settings in the 'Disks' app.

* Please run 'top' in a Terminal window and check if any processes are using high CPU before or during the slow launch.

* Please also reproduce a very slow app launch again and then after it launches run this command:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

Hi!

After running nautilus from the command line, I received a log showing what is happening in my case. The problem is generated by the gphoto2 services.

To fix it, I removed the service. After that, the Nautilus and Gnome applications that depend on file system services returned to work fine again.

I have opened a issue in gphoto2 repositoy on Github for investigation and fix. The link with bug description is: https://github.com/gphoto/gphoto2/issues/361#issuecomment-681670207
