Can you come up with a set of steps which reproduces the problem every time? That would be most helpful.

I have upgraded to herd5 (with xorg-7.2) but this problem still has not gone away.

The steps to reproduce this crash:

1. open a medium- to large- sized plain text document (> 7 pages, the larger the better)

2. go to file -> print, change some of the settings (e.g. print two pages on one page), go to print preview (within the print window).

3. close the print preview window. In some occasions it crashes now and the gedit window disappears altogether

4. if this does not crash gedit, repeat step 1-3 a few times and it will crash easily.
