If libegl1 is installed, modeset fails and rendering falls back to CPU (llvmpipe)

When I updated my system today ( https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/S7csQfNHT4/ ), logged off and logged in, the GPU rendering stopped working. Now using glxinfo it outputs: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/njnbMHf7Bk/

Before libegl1 was required I hadn't it installed, but as now it is unavoidable, it became a big problem.

The only way to make GPU rendering work on this machine is to create a xorg.conf file at /etc/X11 and use the driver intel, but it is said this is not recommended to use it with hardware newer than 2007.
