Bug Description

We already supported Synaptics 06cb:00bd fingerprint recently, but can not support another ID yet: Synaptics 06cb:00be

Tested on Ubuntu 20.04.1.
Platform with this chip https://certification.ubuntu.com/catalog/component/06cb:00be

Shengyao, have you tried to manually "hack" the driver including this new ID to the id_table?

@Maro, I tried hack the driver by adding the ID to libfprint-1.90.2+tod1/libfprint/drivers/synaptics/synaptics.c

  { .vid = SYNAPTICS_VENDOR_ID, .pid = 0xBE, },

and tested on a ThinkPad which has this ID, but no lucky, fprintd-enroll will reply "list_devices failed: No devices available" as before.

This is weird, it should find the device...

Make sure you're loading the proper library.

The [06cb:00be] is confirmed non-supported in v1.90.7[1], Closing this issue to won't fix.
