jackd can't connect to firewire sound card

Bug Description

On Karmic beta, before and/or after applying the patch of Martin Pitt for accessing firewire hard drives without sudo password (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442604) , jackd can not access to my presonus firebox sound card.

The problem is the same using the freebob driver, or the firewire driver. All the package about FFADO are installed. This external firewire sound card works well with Hardy LTS, Intrepid and Jaunty. My username is in the "disk" group, wich was the key to access to firewire sound cards with freebob driver on previous version than Karmic.

So, is it a bug ? What is the way to configure ffado/freebob in jackd/qjackctl?

Don't hesitate to ask me to test more and report.

I'm having a similar problem I guess, my Alesis io26 interface is not recognized by ffado-dbus-server or jackd. After compiling from source (both libffado and jackd) it works, but sadly this breaks a lot of dependencies (ardour etc.). What could be the problem?

Is this still a bug with ffado version 2.4.4 on Ubuntu 21.04?

   Suggestion:
This bug report is over 10 years old. It should be closed unless
updated information is available. My understanding based on the
FFADO "configuration" file is that the Firebox is currently supported.

The comment from 2015 is irrelevant: that's about software
deinstallation which is an Ubuntu distribution issue.
