When a secon level menu is active (aka VPN menú) the color are changed from the selected theme.

This does not appear to be a NetworkManager specific problem. I can reproduce this behaviour among other apps (e.g. Nautilus) too. The only app not affected seems to be Firefox. I attached two screenshots to clarify the issue.

This was confirmed to affect other applications, reassigning to libdbusmenu which is my best guess -- please feel free to reassign to a more correct package ;)

I'm looking into this...
But so far this defiantly looks like a libdbus issue. (As all have said) I don' think it's something that adding a flag/argument in the GTKWidget.CSS will fix.

The behaviour seems to have gotten better in Unity 5.8. However, I still notice that in some apps the menus are bright gray (e.g. in Nautilus) and some are dark gray (e.g. NetworkManager-Indicator).
