I'm not sure how canberra-gtk-play is called so I renamed it to canberra-gtk-play.real and created script named canberra-gtk-play with the following content:

#!/bin/sh
G_SLICE=always-malloc
G_DEBUG=gc-friendly
valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full --num-callers=40 --log-file=/tmp/valgrind-canberra-gtk-play.log canberra-gtk-play.real $@

Is this the right approach to get a Valgrind report?

Is there some information I can provide to help progress this bug report? Or is it linked to Bug #275100?

I'm not surprised I didn't get sound in 8.04, but I'm quite keen to sort sound out now that I've upgraded to Intrepid

It seems to have been resolved with later kernel release 24-7 we have had no further crashesRegards> From: <email address hidden>> To: <email address hidden>> Date: Sun, 2 Nov 2008 23:44:37 +0000> Subject: [Bug 276598] Re: canberra-gtk-play crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc()> > Is there some information I can provide to help progress this bug> report?
