Bug Description

I do not know how to reopen this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libatasmart/+bug/445852 so I decided to create new bug.

After recent update of Kubuntu 14.10 (beta), and following reboot, I got these messages in dmesg

[ 1.534737] ata14.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6
[ 1.534758] ata14.00: irq_stat 0x40000001

The same for me after upgrading from Kubuntu 14.04 to Kubuntu 14.10(final) I get the same message:

Q: 0 ANSI: 5
[ 3.045018] ata18.00: exception Emask 0x1 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6
[ 3.045056] ata18.00: irq_stat 0x40000001

[ 3.045149] ata18: hard resetting link

Should be a bug, as I did not have this message before upgrading.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in libatasmart (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I have also got this bug, but from Ubuntu 16.04.02 LTS (32-bit), (with MATE desktop add-on)

It would be good if this got some attention, thanks.
