libao.conf wrong in Hardy - it's using alsa as default and should be pulse

Binary package hint: libao2

I read in http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/PerfectSetup that we should change /etc/libao.conf from default_driver=alsa to default_driver=pulse so we can get libao working properly with pulseaudio.
The issue with this is that libao2 and libao-pulse has by default alsa. It should be changed.

But libao-pulse is not included by default, making it the default will require an extra dependency on libao-pulse for ubuntu-desktop...

From my experience libao-pulse is not necessary.

I modified libao.conf and changed default_driver=pulse.
I don't have package libao-pulse installed
I am running Hardy.

Everything is working perfectly. This simple change fixed many things for me.

The proposed change is incorrect. Imagine a Kubuntu installation that does not have pulseaudio installed. In this case, setting the default_driver to pulse would result in a regression. This is now worked around in intrepid by installing the pulse pcm+ctl plugin for alsa-lib if pulseaudio is installed, so it does not matter if default_driver is set to alsa or pulse, since everything is routed through pulse if libasound2-plugins is installed.
