ok, im spend so many time for solve it, im alrady try most sollution on the net, but nothing - im use laptop Impression 353 its Elitgroup/Uniwill platform Model: L51AI, here it is http://www.uniwill.com/UserDownload/l51ai/l51ai.php(include working windows drivers), this model use sound from southbridge by ati sb460. So, the volume regulators always on and show that sound is on and present, but it is not... may be is some problems with dial-up modem from same sb460, last try - im gonna take off modem drivers, all other didn help... thanx p.s. same situation in both versions of ubuntu - 10.10 and 11.04
