Similar Crash behavior on Ubuntu 14.04.3 3.13.0-66-generic, though not during launch but every time focus goes on file with Japanese chars 1941<年(昭和16年)5月13日.avi>. No problem to display chars but as soon as cursor touches item, lfm crashes immediately.
B.t.w.: File size shows only 1byte, though is has about 160MB.
