Subject: Possibly not suitable for Sarge
Package: ldp-docbook-
Severity: serious
The maintainer of this package has expressed doubts about the
suitability of this package for inclusion in Sarge:
- is it still functional?
- does it comply to the current Debian XML standards?
- XML catalog support correct?
- more?
And feels that the package should not be shipped with Sarge unless
somebody verifies that this package is indeed suitable for release.
Hence this bug, please close it if you've verified this package is
suitable.

I made an attempt to save this package from removal. A patch is
difficult to provide since it includes allmost the whole package
due to the many policy and upstream changes.
However, the packages are available at
deb http://
deb-src http://
They are currently labeled as a NMU but of course one can change that
easily. I would even offer to (co-)maintain this package. As one of the
doc-linux maintainer it is kind of my business, too.

I'm a bit confused about this one. I found no hint in the documentation
or in existing packages that I can use a catalog to register stylesheets
only (without DTD). Comments welcome.

Documentation needed updates, done that as good as I could.

Hi,
I've just noticed that LDP docbook stylesheets have been
massively redone.
There are two points:
symlinks aren't going to be installed by dpkg if it's been a directory before
(i.e. your compatibility symlinks aren't installed when upgraded,
it needs to be done in postinst)
filenames are dramatically different.
Thus, I have to rewrite my xsl stylesheets for
wysihtml
pbuilder
update-cluster
whatever else.

Wish I could offer more, but I'm not currently on a debian machine...

do) to see what the long-term plan is for the ldp-stylesheets. It'd
be nice to minimize the changes we need to make for the

Wednesday I'll post what I've learned.

As it was my NMU that broke this I will try to prepare a fixed package
later today.

Files under
/usr/share/
do not match what existed under
/usr/share/
Thus, the individual files need to be symlinked.
I think ldp-html.xsl = tldp-one-page.xsl,
but I'm not quite sure about other xsl.
Used to be:
esheet/xsl/ldp/
-rw-r--r-- root/root 1075 2002-04-05 06:20:05 ./usr/share/
-rw-r--r-- root/root 9032 2002-04-05 06:20:05 ./usr/share/

-rw-r--r-- root/root 696 2002-04-05 06:20:05 ./usr/share/
Is now:
