Bug Description
Availability:
lcov is architecture: all, and consists of a few perl scripts. Perl is in main, so this is not a problem.
Rationale:
This package is used by llvm-toolchain-3.3 for building, adding codecoverage to DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS adds a build-dependency on lcov in debian/rules.
Security: The security history and the current state of security issues in the package must allow us to support the package for at least 18 months without exposing its users to an inappropriate level of security risks. This requires checking of several things that are explained in detail in the subsection Security checks.
Quality assurance:
Should be relatively independent from hardware, because it's a perl script.
UI standards:
n/a
Dependencies:
Only depends on debhelper and perl, which are in main.
Standards compliance:
The debian packaging is easy to understand, nothing out of the ordinary there.
Maintenance:
I don't think there will be much needed, code coverage tools do not change much, and it's required as build-dep only.
Background information:
See rationale, this program seems to be an extension of gcov, and uses the information gained from compiling with gcov to create a code coverage report in html.

status: | New → Won't Fix |
Due to https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ lcov/+bug/ 1163758 it looks like lcov is currently incompatible with newer versions of GCC, so I'll just yank the build-dep from llvm-toolchain instead, and we can revisit this if someone wants to rev lcov to a newer version and include the patches from upstream CVS to fix it.
