The following message appears in /var/log/syslog:

Nov 27 11:30:08 ubuntu4 laptop-mode: Unhandled kernel version: 3.0 ('uname -r' = '3.0.0-13-generic')

Is the laptop-mode functionality available for the latest kernels?

This is fixed in 1.58 and above which I believe is going to be part of
the Precise release.

Whether it will be fixed for 11.10, I'm not sure. I don't know what the
backport policy is.
