Bug Description

When I copy files to my USB stick in Nautilus, the progress information shows wrong file size and estimated time.
Something like "Remaining time 45457 hours" "Copied 431543347676576.00 GB of 497GB" etc.
The files I'm trying to copy are several hundred MB. This happens on at least three different PCs.
Screenshot attached.

I can confirm this too. And it's happening on several computers with Ubuntu 9.04.

thank you for your bug report, you should use ubuntu-bug to report bugs, it includes useful details on the versions you are using, locale etc. That could be a translation issue, what locale do you use, do you get the issue in english?

Changed in nautilus (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs)

All systems with this problem use Bulgarian locale. I cant't test at the moment if this happens in english locale too, but I will do it later.

the issue is a bulgarian translation one, could be the non matching arguments in those strings

"#. To translators: %S will expand to a size like "2 bytes" or "3 MB", %T to a time duration like
#. * "2 minutes". So the whole thing will be something like "2 kb of 4 MB -- 2 hours left (4kb/sec)"
#. *
#. * The singular/plural form will be used depending on the remaining time (i.e. the %T argument).

Looks like the Bulgarian translation team does not care about the translations at all.
I reported this bug long long time ago, and still... nobody cares.
Looks like that they don't use ubuntu.
If they used it, they should have seen it.
Come on - the bug is reported in April, and now it's NOVEMBER. How can it be still "Unassigned"?!?!
Lets first fix the small bugs - that everyone can see.
When it will be fixed? In Ubuntu 20.10?

Here is a quick fix:
sudo wget ftp://guest%40learnfree%2Eeu:<email address hidden>/translations/nautilus.mo -O /usr/share/locale-langpack/bg/LC_MESSAGES/nautilus.mo
