Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

There are broken translations of en_CA in amarok. The status bar and tooltip both show "_: track by artist on album" instead of the actual track name, artist name, and album name.

The error probably stems from the following translations:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/amarok/+pots/amarok/en_CA/1527/+translate
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/amarok/+pots/amarok/en_CA/1528/+translate
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+source/amarok/+pots/amarok/en_CA/1529/+translate

The correct translation is already suggested on each of those pages.

affects: amarok (Ubuntu) → language-pack-en (Ubuntu)

This is a really simple bug fix, and without it, the Amarok tooltip and status bar are essentially broken in Canada.

Philip,

Looking at those translations, I cannot see how they can be the source of the problem. They are neither translated nor there are any suggestions.

I think what's happened here is that a new amarok template was uploaded and the strings got reorganized. Perhaps you could use the search function to provide a link to the correct strings.

Ok, I'm not a member of the en_CA team, but as the fix was trivial and
as the en_CA team is not in the Ubuntu Translators group and thus cannot
change those translations, I corrected them myself.

Philip, if you'd be interested in getting the en_CA team appointed for
Canadian English translations or know someone who might be willing to do
it, I'd recommend to follow the steps outlined in:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam

Thanks!
