Option to delete only unregistered locales before processing

Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 15.04 with locales 2.13+git20120306-19 and currently locales can be generated either by checking for outdated ones and recompiling them which keeps unregistered locales or by purging all locales which will also recompile up to date locales. Maybe there could also be an option that only removes unregistered locales before processing as a faster way instead of using --purge.

Can you provide a use case where such an option would make enough of a difference to justify the work with adding it?

You are not forced to implement it if you don't have the time or don't want to do it. But somebody else could see this ticket and provide a patch for this.

Sure, we can turn this report into a wishlist bug if you like. But, again, since you can't explain how it would be useful in practice, it's not likely that somebody will do it.
