Bug Description

Binary package hint: landscape-common

I performed a
 $ kdesudo "adept_manager --dist-upgrade"
to upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10. Things went pretty well, until the process hung on "Configuring landscape-common". I didn't get any error messages or anything -- in fact the Distribution Upgrade window pretty much stopped responding. I did a "ps -ef" to see what was running, and I killed the "/usr/bin/perl -w /usr/share/debconf/frontend /var/lib/dpkg/info/landscape-common.postinst configure" process. I got an error saying the configuration script failed (of course) and then the upgrade continued without further incident.

I don't suppose you remember what else was running in that process tree, or have a screenshot of it? Anyway, I marked it as a duplicate of bug #277038 because I think it's the same issue.
