Bug Description
Binary package hint: landscape-client
Using update-manager. At postinstall the package prompted for a password inside the embedded terminal window. Upon entering the password it was echoed in clear text. Then the update manager hung for several minutes. I had to ctrl+c out of this step.
Note: i have no idea what the queried password was for. If "landscape-client" concerns some kind of online-service, then the password i entered was definitely invalid.

I'm experiencing almost the same error.
Additionally, apt-get complains my disabled root account, so I even don't get a prompt for a password.
